Using Grey Water in the
Garden during a drought. |
| <

Grey Water is the waste from Baths,
showers & Basins
Don't
waste your household water. Use it instead in the garden.
Washing up and bath water can be used to water your plants and
lawn. Small amounts of mild detergent or bubble bath will not
harm your garden.
Greywater can replace fresh water in many instances, saving
money and increasing the effective water supply in regions where
irrigation is needed. Residential water use is almost evenly
split between indoor and outdoor and all except toilet water can
be recycled outdoors.
The cheapest method of using grey water is to syphon it out of
the bath using your redundant hosepipe (and risk a mouthful of
soapy water!) or to connect the hosepipe to the exterior waste
pipe.
Alternatively, the following companies provide equipment for
the easy transfer of Grey Water to the Garden: |
